New Jersey Litigants Have New Alternative in Dispute Resolution

Northstar offers something known in the legal profession as "alternative dispute resolution", a process that entails settling a legal dispute without a full courtroom trial. Methods of alternative dispute resolution include mediation, non-binding arbitration, and binding arbitration.
Quicker and less expensive than court litigation, ADR is often mediated by a qualified third party--usually a legal professional or retired judge--who presides over clients' civil disputes in less formal (and usually private) settings.
